Search engines are becoming increasingly important for marketers. Tracking a company blog or using Google Analytics to track usage on company web sites is a key way to measure success and awareness. The more sites and social media that companies use, the more ways they will be capable of tracking their consumers. By tracking the highest click-through rates and hottest topics, companies will be able to stay more closely connected with their own consumers' interests and newest up-and-coming buying trends and behaviors. On the flip side, companies can also use search engines, like Google, to find out the negative buzz that is flowing through cyberspace about their company. Marketers can learn what consumers do not like about a company and try to change the assumptions of consumers with public relations campaigns using social media sites.
